The best bag for work, travel and photography. See how it fits my laptop, camera gear and where I love taking it.
In recent years, there has been an amazing revolution in the everyday travel backpack. Today, bag manufacturers are paying more attention to what every daily commuter and frequent traveller need more than ever. I’m happy to report that I’m one of those people who is loving the evolution so far.
Over the years, I’ve accumulated a lot of backpacks, just too many bags. Each doing a few things really well but none of them do everything well. Which brings me to the Everything Backpack I purchased seven months ago.

Sleek and practicality combined
Beyond its functionality, the Everything Bag has a classic and premium appearance and feel. The first time I saw the Everything Backpack was at the Oribags store in Setia Alam. Weeks before, I’d been scouring the internet for the best bag I could get my hands on for work, travel, and photography. This time, I needed one that my back would appreciate too.
That’s when I came across the Everything Backpack on the Oribags online store. Thanks to the online and video walkthroughs, I could tell that this bag was constructed to ensure protection and performance.
I’ve had occasions where my brother would describe me as “Doraemon” because Doraemon has everything in his little pocket. Whenever my brother’s out and about with me and needs a piece of wet wipe or tissue, I always swiftly pull them out and hand them over with a proud smile. This bag accommodates everything in almost every situation a traveller find themselves in.
What I love about the Everything Bag is that the colours are low-key. It comes in black and mustard, which match any outfit. Not to mention the ‘Moment’ logo. It blends in with the colours, making it ideal for those who don’t like showing off the brand of the bag.
Comfort and ergonomics of the backpack
The Everyday Bag’s thoughtfully sculpted mesh padded shoulder straps continue to impress, despite having used this bag for the past seven months. The straps are designed with an s-curve shape, which is genius in my opinion, as it eliminates discomfort and the feeling of my chest being squished. It also helps with weight distribution across your shoulders, and I am pleasantly surprised at the fact that it stays securely in place.
It felt effortless to carry as I navigated crowded airport terminals or trekked rugged terrain.

The Everyday Bag features a padded back panel that adds an extra layer of comfort and support. This not only reduces strain on your back but also promotes airflow, preventing excessive sweating during warm weather or intense physical activity.
Organisation and storage options
Moment has always been conscientious. As a frequent roadtripper and travel photographer and someone who works from anywhere, efficiently storing, carrying, and accessing my gear during airport screening or outdoor shoots is crucial.
Another feature that deserves a special mention is the fast side access to the main compartment. This feature allows me to swing the bag in a vertical position to the front of my body, so I can easily open the zip and grab my gear. This subtle feature is not something you think about, but it’s a common subconscious and immediate reaction when you’re going through the immigration or screening line. Because, let’s face it, you get major anxiety when there is a long line of other travellers waiting behind you to get a move on.
Gone are the days of rummaging through a bottomless pit to find your stuff. I have fast access to my things, even when they’re full.
The interior mesh-padded laptop and tablet sleeve is made to easily slide your laptop in and out. My Everything Bag is in the 17L size, which can fit up to a 14” laptop, while the tablet sleeve can fit tablets or other items such as travel documents, notebooks, or anything flat.
On the opposite end of the sleeves, there are small compartments to fit two pens and smaller items such as a flat sanitizer, earpods, or a small power bank.
In cabin situations, the Everyday Bag turns into an underseat bag. Nowadays, when I fly, I no longer put my bag in the overhead compartment because I hate hogging the aisle and making 50 other people wait behind me while I hustle to lift the bag up. The Everyday Bag is compact enough to fit snugly under the seat, and since I like making trips to the lavatory, being able to grab them quickly from the bag is key.
Did I mention the front zippered pocket? It provides quick access to frequently used items such as your phone, wallet, keys, or passport. The best thing about this front compartment is that it also has additional deep side pockets, which is sort of a secret compartment ideal for items you want to keep safely hidden.
Rugged build
Last February, I got to put this bag to the test while walking the Goyt Valley in the Peak District. While that day was not the first time I walked the trail, it was the first time I walked it in terrible weather. The winds were strong, visibility was not great, it was cold, and to add to the thrill, it was raining that day too.
Knowing that my Everything Bag was weatherproof, I braved the walk because I was curious to find out if this bag is truly what Moment says it is. I’m happy to report that the bag did my gear and essentials justice. Even though the bag got wet externally, every single item, including my camera, was dry! Imagine how thrilled I was because the bag truly prepares you for anything that mother nature throws at you.
The external material has a full, dull yarn finish. In other words, a rugged micro-ripstop fabric with a double-layer waterproofing finish. This makes the bag very durable and water-resistant. Obviously, don’t jump into the river with the bag, but as per my test during the Goyt Valley walk, it does very well in rain, spillages, and leakages. The bag’s zippers are also covered, and they are the YKK AquaGuard zippers throughout.

Pricing and purchasing information
The Moment Everything Backpack 17L is available for purchase on the official Moment website as well as at select retailers. The price of the backpack may vary depending on the location and any ongoing promotions or discounts. At the time of writing this post, the Everything Backpack is also available at Oribags Sdn Bhd, but it is only available in the 28-litre size in black and is selling for MYR 850. I believe that is the only unit left in the store.
The Moment official website, on the other hand, is selling the 17L for USD 110 and the 21L for USD 135. These prices, however, are only for the mustard colors. The prices for both sizes in black are much higher.
While the price may seem steep compared to other backpacks on the market, it is important to consider the value offered. The Moment Everything Backpack holds its ground in terms of functionality, durability, and organization. It’s an investment in a high-quality backpack that will last you for years and one that won’t break your back in the long run.
